What Does A Professional Medical Coder Do?

A medical coder reads a patient’s file and translates everything in the file to a universal code accepted by insurance companies. Everything that happens at each appointment is analyzed and assigned a code by the medical coder. This includes supplies used, diagnoses and treatment.

Where In the AdventHealth Network Can You Work?

Medical coders can work in a variety of settings. As a medical coder, you can work in private practice, in a large health care network, in long-term care settings or even in urgent care centers.
