Through the Professional Medical Certificate, you are eligible for the Certified Professional Coder (CPC-A) certification through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or the CCS-P certification through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

  • Review patient records and understand the medical codes that need to be assigned for each diagnosis and procedure
  • Possess knowledge of the CPT coding system and understand the ICD-10-CM and HCPCS Level II coding systems
  • Be an expert in health information documentation, data integrity, and quality
