What Does a Health Information Technology Professional Do?

Health Information Technology (HIT) professionals are essential to the modern healthcare landscape. They bridge the gap between technology and healthcare, ensuring that patient information is secure, accessible, and compliant.

Learners begin with an overview of medical terminology providing an understanding about how medical terms – the language of medicine – are formed as well as a brief overview of anatomy, physiology, and pathology to begin the career-long learning of medical terminology essential to those who work in the healthcare field.

The Electronic Health Records Management component prepares students to use electronic records in a medical practice. By taking this course students will understand the implementation and management of electronic health information, while maintaining the medical, legal, accreditation and regulatory requirements of these electronic health records.
